胃炎是胃粘膜炎症的统称。常见病，可分为急性和慢性两类。急性胃炎常见的为单纯性和糜烂性两种。前者表现为上腹不适、疼痛、厌食和恶心、呕吐;后者消化道出血为主要表现，有呕血和黑粪。慢性胃炎通常又可分为浅表性胃炎、萎缩性胃炎和肥厚性胃炎。慢性胃炎病程迁延，大多无明显症状和体征，一般仅见饭后饱胀、泛酸、嗳气、无规律性腹痛等消化不良症状。确诊主要依赖胃镜检查和胃粘膜活组织检查。本病常见于成人，许多病因可刺激胃，如饮食不当，病毒和细菌感染、药物刺激等均可能引发本病。
